The Club Picnic took place today in magnificent sunshine, and included a race from the Club line to East Ferry Pier. Class I were sailing for the Will O’Brien Cup, and Class II for the Daithí McCarthy Cup. With the wind behind them for most of the way it was very quick and enjoyable sail to East Ferry.
The results are below:
The Daithí McCarthy Cup, Class II was won by David Coakley and Ken in a Laser Pico.
The Will O’Brien Cup, Class I was won by Emmett O’Sullivan in a RS 100.
2nd Place went to Ronan O’Driscoll and Petie O’Brien in a RS 200.
In 3rd Place was Michael and Sandy O’Brien in 5o5.
With the racing over all competitors and a large support team convened on the quay in East Ferry for a BBQ and a few refreshing beverages in the beautiful sunshine.
